Iron-free and Reusable Blasting Media
The SH BLAST Glass Beads are spherical, iron-free and reusable blasting abrasives that can be used for stainless steel or aluminum parts. With their round shape, glass beads clean gently, which makes them suitable for surface finishing or creating visually appealing effects. Micro glass pearls are among the most widely used abrasives worldwide.
Micro glass beads are a mineral blasting media with limited abrasive effects. Due to the gentle cleaning characteristics, glass beads are well suited for the removal of residues and deposits, without damaging the surfaces underneath. Glass beads can be used to remove metal oxides from workpieces or from metallic molds and tools as well as mold residues from castings. Glass does not react chemically and can be used for metallic and non-metallic parts and machine components.
Glass beads are a relatively long-lasting media that can be reused several times. Their disposal is not subject to any separate regulations, which makes this blasting material particularly cost-effective in both usage and disposal.
SH BLAST Glass Beads are available in the standard sizes:
- 0 - 50µm
- 40 - 70µm
- 70 - 110µm
- 90 - 150µm
- 100 - 200µm
- 150 - 250µm
- 200 - 300µm
- 300 - 400µm
- 425 - 850µm.
When used properly, glass beads are gentle to the surface without influencing their texture or structure. During professional cleaning with glass beads, workpieces are cleaned without residue or changing the dimensions of the workpieces.
SH BLAST Glass Beads are suitable for use in pressure blasting systems and injector blasting systems as well as abrasive media for dry ice blasters.
The SH BLAST Glass Beads are both environmentally friendly and non-toxic as well as reliable and inexpensive. They are clean, easy to use and reusable. Glass Beads can be stored indefinitely.

Attention:
When abrasive blasting always pay attention to wearing suitable protective clothing. Use suitable ventilation systems whilst working in enclosures. Only use appropriate abrasive medias for suitable applications and with the correct instructions. Incorrectly used abrasives can cause damage to the surfaces being blasted.
