Antistatic Blasting Media
SH BLAST MA III is a melamine blasting media for applications within rubber and plastics or aviation and automotive industry. It is made of fully (100 %) hardened and shredded Melamine molding parts. In further workflows it will filtered according to American standard mesh-sizes and moistened with a special anti-static agent.
SH BLAST MA III cleans gently and, in contrast to common abrasive blasting methods, does not penetrate surfaces. It is well suited for applications with sensitive metallic and non-metallic parts and machines. In order to ensure this gentle blasting effect only fully hardened thermoset molding compounds filled with cellulose are processed.
SH BLAST MA III cleans chrome-plated injection molds, steel molds or aluminum molds as well as extruder tools and screws. It deburrs die-cast and plastic parts, activates and cleans composite or GRP parts or prepares coatings of plastic products. Due to the higher hardness compared to SH BLAST UA II it can achieve a higher blast media efficiency. The abrasive consumption is approx. 20 % less compared to the SH BLAST UA II.
SH BLAST MA III have been certified by the U.S. Air Force according to MIL-P-85891 and can be used for cleaning and de-painting of surfaces in the aircraft industry and the military sector.
SH BLAST MA III is available in standard sizes
- 60 – 80 mesh (0.18 – 0.25 mm)
- 40 – 60 mesh (0.25 – 0.40 mm)
- 30 – 40 mesh (0.40 – 0.60 mm)
- 20 – 40 mesh (0.40 – 0.80 mm)
- 20 – 30 mesh (0.60 – 0.80 mm)
- 16 – 20 mesh (0.80 – 1.20 mm)
- 12 – 20 mesh (0.80 – 1.70 mm)
- 12 – 16 mesh (1.20 – 1.70 mm).
The blast media is applied worldwide successfully in many applications in different branches for: cleaning and activating surfaces, depainting, deflashing and preparation of surfaces for high quality painting.
SH BLAST MA III Plastic Blast Media is eco-friendly, reliable and inexpensive. It is extremely clean, easily applicable and can be used several times. It is absolutely nontoxic and it´s storage time is unlimited.
SH BLAST AA V is suited for applications with dry ice blasting devices.
Benefits of SH BLAST MA III Blast Media
- Blasting without roughening or deformation of the surface (the media can be adjusted to the object to be blasted
- Very little expenditure of time (because of sharp particles the surfaces are finished very fast particularly if pressure blasting cabinets are used)
- Long endurance because of up to 30 blasting cycles
- Chemically inert, therefore no harm to health or environment
- Very limited sticking of dust at the surfaces because of a very efficient antistatic
- Guaranteed continuously high quality because of strict internal quality management
- Also guaranteed high quality through periodic examination in own and external laboratories
SH BLAST MA III cleans and activates
- Composite parts before adhesive bonding as applied in the aircraft industry
- Steel- and chromed molds of the rubber and plastic industry
- Aluminum- and steel molds of the foam plastic industry
- Light metal pressure casting bodies
- Extruder screws and injection die mold tools of the foam plastic industry
- Glass fiber reinforced plastic parts
- Wood surfaces, facades (in particular of historical and ancient monuments) or stone, copper or bronze monuments
- Natural and polished stones, e.g. from marble or granite
- Motor parts and brake linings
SH BLAST MA III deflashes:
- Electronic parts and components
- Pressure casted parts
- Foam plastic parts
SH BLAST MA III depaints:
- Parts and components of aircrafts
- Vintage cars, ship hulls and car bodies
- Powder-coated parts
- Aluminum rims

- Traffic and instruction signs
- Brass surfaces
- Grey cast iron workpieces
- Parts and components of automobiles
SH BLAST MA III prepares surfaces for:
- High quality painting of foam plastic parts
- High quality painting of wood surfaces
- High quality painting of metal surfaces
Attention:
When abrasive blasting always pay attention to wearing suitable protective clothing. Use suitable ventilation systems whilst working in enclosures. Only use appropriate abrasive medias for suitable applications and with the correct instructions. Incorrectly used abrasives can cause damage to the surfaces being blasted.
