Multi-Purpose Mineral Blasting Media
The SH BLAST Glass Granulate is an angular iron-free and multi-purpose, mineral abrasive and as such can be used for stainless steel or aluminium parts. With its angular shape, the glass granules have a stronger abrasive effect on surfaces than glass beads. However, due to the lower hardness, glass granulate is less aggressive than corundum blasting abrasives and can be used for surface finish, optical effects, matting or cleaning of sensitive surfaces.
Due to its gentle cleaning characteristics, glass granulate is suitable for removing residues and deposits from sensitive workpieces or machine parts, while being harmless to the underneath surfaces. Glass beads are able to remove metal oxides from workpieces or mold residues from cast parts. Granulated glass does not react chemically with other materials and can be used for both metallic and non-metallic workpieces.
With their long-lasting life time, glass granules can be re-used for multiple treatments without impairing the sensitive cleaning effects. Their disposal is not subject to any separate regulations, making this abrasive particularly costs effective in both usage and disposal.
SH BLAST Glass Granulate is available in the standard sizes:
- 80 - 150µm
- 100 - 200µm
- 200 - 300µm
- 300 - 600µm
- 300 - 800µm
- 400 - 1400µm.
Glass granules and beads can be combined as abrasives in order to fit the mechanical properties to individual requirements. With their low costs, glass granules are also suitable for outdoor applications where an optimal material circulation cannot be guaranteed. The glass granules are not subject to separate regulations for the disposal of materials. Beam residues can be absorbed and disposed of easily.
SH BLAST Glass Granulates are suitable for use in pressure blasting systems and injector blasting.
The SH Glass Granulates are environmentally friendly and harmless to health as well as reliable and inexpensive. They are clean, easy to use and re-usable. The product can be stored indefinitely.

Attention:
When abrasive blasting always pay attention to wearing suitable protective clothing. Use suitable ventilation systems whilst working in enclosures. Only use appropriate abrasive medias for suitable applications and with the correct instructions. Incorrectly used abrasives can cause damage to the surfaces being blasted.
