Mold Release Agent for Sythetic Rubber
A373 Fluoroelastomer Mold Release is a semi-permanent, fast curing release agent for synthetic rubber such as fluorel, viton and other fluorocarbons. The application will provide a permanent yet removable, thin-layer, anti-stick mold surface coating for fast and convenient part removal from molds. A373 enables for an improved part release even under challenging conditions and with highly complex moldings.
A373 is formulated to be a high performing and persisting mold release solution for elastomers and rubber products. A single application will allow multiple molding cycles, and even intensive use will provide a stable and long-lasting surface coating for an efficient performance with an excellent release capacity for your plastic processing applications.
If the mold eventually begins to stick, simply cure the sticking area of the mold by "touching-up" to allow for a continued molding with minimal production delay.
Release agent for fluoroelastomers
This fluoroelastomere release agent is sucessfully used by internationally leading plastic processing companies for the production of elastomere-based products and increases efficiency in molding and releasing in applications such as injection molding, compression molding, or transfer molding. Stoner A373 is made for various applications and the best choice for silicone rubber.
Stoner A373 is developed for tool temperatures of max. 260°C.
Stoner A373 is available as an easy-to-use aerosol spray can, that enables users to efficiently and accurately prepare molds and tools prior to production starts. Due to its leading spray head technology even most challenging areas can be prepared effectively and evenly. Upon request, selected products are also available in different container sizes.
Benefits of Stoner A373:
- Saves time and increases efficiency by supporting quick and easy part removal from molds.
- With its long-lasting anti-stick coating, it supports multiple releases per application.
- Fluoroelastomer mold release coating will not transfer to fluoroelastomer compound or interfere with delicate compound chemistry.
- Improves part appearance and reduces defects or scrap caused by sticking.
- Contains no chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) or hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) propellants.
- Contains no chlorinated solvents such as 1,1,1 trichloroethane or methylene chloride.
Areas of Application:
- Formulated for the release of molded fluoroelastomere products
Direction for Use:
- Shake well before using
- Should be applied to a clean mold, free of any previous mold release or other residues.
- Can be applied to either cold or hot molds
- Made for temperatures of max. 260° C
- Hold can 25 to 30 cm from surface to be sprayed
- For best results, A373 must be bonded to mold surface by heating mold to ca. 160° C or over the night (ca. 12 hours)
- If necessary, A373 can be removed from mold surface with gentle-abrasive (plastic) bead blasting
Storage and Handling:
- Note the security descriptions and application advises in the security data sheets and on the product
- Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin or breathing of vapor.
- Use with adequate ventilation
- Container is under pressure and must not be punctured or incinerated.
- Container must not be exposed to heat, direct sun light, open fire or sparks.
